Hello all,
I am in West Borneo, Indonesia. I have opportunity to plant acacia trees at 20 Ha unused land. This area could plant around 50000 acacia trees. As we know that this type of trees are valuable for the pulp & paper factory around the world. Know I am starting plant acacia seed with 22 young people come form this land area only. I am looking for people wo want interested to invest around USD100,000 above in this project. Any one of you require additional information about the project plan please send an amail to karimata_kms@yahoo.co.id

That seems like a very high number - a high planting density is 1,000 trees per hectare - the highest I have ever heard was 1,500 per hectare. We plant at a density of 816 per hectare but we have very fertile soil with very good growing conditions.
What species of Acacia are you thinking of planting? There are 500 different trees in the Acacia family if I remember.

Thank you for your respons,
Yes you are righ. Aproximately in a Ha could plant around 2500 trees. Is it possible? Yes this is possible. Because we have tried in our school land that the distance between the trees 2.0 m only. After 4 years the trees diameters around 28cm. I am not sure yet but I think you call it as acacia mangium.

Interesting - We plant Acacia Mangnium at 3.5 meters because in 4 years we do have a similar diameter - but the crowns are touching. Could you post a picture? I would be very interested in seeing such close planting with such good results.
How good is your soil? One advantage to acacia is it is nitrogeon fixing of course.

Not really a requirement - just a curiosity. Your planting density is much higher than I am accustomed too - perhaps it is due to growing for pulp? We only grow for lumber.
It seems to me I remember (which may be flawed) that pine is planted at high density for pulp as well.
Don't bother going to much trouble on my behalf.
