Small time exports?

Are there any restrictions in doing real small exports of tropical hardwoods? I'm talking pieces of teak and purpleheart that would fit in a FedEx envelope. I don't think you'd have to follow the same rules a exporting full lumber, but they might require the wood be fully dried.

Just wondering because I got a new wood boat and I was thinking of adding some ornamental trim pieces. I can buy stuff imported by a local supplier, but it isn't the same. I like to know where the wood came from.

Interesting question. Teak shouldn't be a problem and I don't think purple heart is on the CITIE list yet so it should be too bad.

Dry is important of course and usually they want it fumagated when you are sending a large load, a small one should be much of a problem.
